Save Editor
BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILE BEFORE EDITING IT!
WillowTree is a save editor for Borderlands. It will fully decompile/recompile the entire save, allowing you quickly manipulate saves in ways that would normally take a ridiculous amount of time. WillowTree works on all platforms. 360, PS3, and PC saves can be read/edited.
Basics of WillowTree
Upon opening a file in WillowTree, the name of the file will displayed as the root folder. After opening the folder, the following should be displayed:
* Character - Contains information regarding the character's experience, level, and money, along with other basic details from the beginning of the save.
* Skills - Lists all of the character's skills.
* Ammo Pools - Lists the ammo information. (Note: The current ammo is not properly displayed as a float, but instead as a long.)
* Grenades, Shields, and Mods - Lists all non-weapon backpack items.
* Weapons - Lists all of the character's weapons.
* Challenge Data - Lists the raw data from the challenges.
* Visited Locations - Lists all of the character's visited locations.
* Current Location - Displays the character's current location (New-U Station).
* Save Info - Contains values for the save, such as the save number.
* Quests - List all of the character's completed and current quests.
* Player Info - Displays extra information about the character, specificly color and name.
* Echo Logs - Lists all of the character's echo logs.

Character Editing:
Once you Open WillowTree, Click on "File">"Open" and open which ever save you want to edit.
After opening your save you should now see a tree menu with your save (i.e. Save0001.sav) with a + sign in front of it. Click that plus sign to open the tree menu.
Now you'll see the list above, Open the plus on "Character" then click on the folder inside and you should see some of your stats to the right. (i.e. Level, Experience, Cash, Skill Points, Finished Game)
When changing your level you must match your experience points to that level or you will not gain any more XP.
Your cash can be changed up to $9,999,999 Thats as much as the game will show you.
Skill Points can be set as high as you like though you only ned about 95 or so to fill everything up.
I have not changed the "Finished Game" setting, why bother, it would ruin the fun!

Editing your Backpack Space:
After opening your save you should now see a tree menu with your save (i.e. Save0001.sav) with a + sign in front of it. Click that plus sign to open the tree menu.
Now you'll see the list above again, Click on the folder "Grenades, Shields, and Mods" and to your right will be "Backpack Space" and "Equip Slot".
Your Backpack Space will only go up to 9999.
Equip Slot is something I have not toyed with yet.
--------------------------------------------------------
You can try editing other things in your save but remember that after the latest Borderlands patch, not all changes to the save will work. for example modded guns are no more!
